Pat's cat is called Jess. Jess went everywhere with Pat on his daily post delivery runs through Greendale. Postman Pat's bright red van was originally without the Royal Mail crest until the studio received permission to use the logo from the Royal Mail.

A cute cuddly Postman Pat soft toy - Postman Pat is an original classic. This cartoon for children was produced using stop-motion animation for the BBC by Woodland Animations in the early 80's. The signature theme tune "Postman Pat and his black 'n white cat" was sung by children in playgrounds all over the world. A new series was made in 2004. In Holland Postman Pat was known as "Pieter Post" (Peter Post), in Italy "Il postino Pat" (The postman Pat), and in Spain Pat was known as "Patrick Postaria".
