Concrete Boots

Where cement is used in the design of everyday products

Cement is used to make the boots for each Boot Kid. Cement is a popular design material; Used in the manufacture of kitchen-counter-tops and in the building of state of the art sky-scrapers.

Boot Kidz concrete wellies

Each "Boot Kid" boot is moulded using real Wellington boots and cast using concrete mixed with coloured dye. No paint is used. Sealant is used to produce the glossy finish and protect the outer surface of the boots.

Unique features of concrete

Concrete is extremely long-lasting with high compression strength. Concrete has a unique clean stoney look combined with slightly rough texture making it a perfect material choice for designers.

Concrete equipment and products

Clothes for dealing with concrete

Cement is a reactive chemical and can cause skin, lungs, and eye damage. Protective clothing should be worn at all times to prevent long term and repeat exposure. Gloves should protect the hands when working with cement and boots should protect the feet and legs when standing in concrete. See Safety data for working with cement from Oxford University.
