Garment Racks/Clothes Rails

Garment racks have a horizontal bar to hang different types of clothes including coats, jackets, shirts, and trousers. This example shows a classic garment rack - 1.6m high with shoe-rack and castor wheels to allow for easy movement.

What to look out for when buying a garment rack

Garment racks usually have wheels to allow shop-keepers to move large amounts of clothes easily around the shop for visual merchandising reasons (to change the layout and presentation of the shop). When you purchase a garment rack ensure the horizontal bar is strong enough for the clothes. Read the instructions or see the label on the rack to see what maximum weight the rail can hold.
