Karen Henry
Karen Henry was born in Redcar, Middlesbrough.
She is a successful creative British woman entrepreneur.
She lives in Wimbledon in London and when she is not working, enjoys walks around Wimbledon Park and playing tennis at the Wimbledon Tennis courts.
She studied art at school and is a now qualified furniture designer and owner of Bootkidz Ltd - a busy web portal for all things related to
Wellington Boots and mannequins.
Karen Henry designed "The Boot Kidz" as part of her furniture studies in 2005 at
London Metropolitan University based in Whitechapel Street, Shoreditch, London.
The course was a higher national diploma (HND) in furniture design and included
furniture realisation, product design, and 3D digital design.
During her final year she was required to design and build a unique furniture product.
This was the beginning of the story of "The Boot Kidz".
Karen Henry designed three distinct characters as part of her range of children's coat stands:
The mannequin prototypes were built in the Universities workshop
over a period of three months.
Karen is also interested in art and has undertaken
a number of art classes at City Lit University in London, including:
