What is the origin of the word Lego? The etymology of the word "Lego" stems from two Danish Words - "leg" and "godt" - which translates to English as play well. Lego was named "Toy of the Century" in 2000 by Fortune Magazine. Duplo is the larger version of Lego and designed for smaller children. Clikits are a new design by Lego aimed at girls.
